Weekly Photo Challenge: Illumination – B&W

Image

When I read this week’s photo challenge (http://dailypost.wordpress.com/2013/01/11/lights/) this image immediately came to my mind. I took it in manual setting with a lensbaby and was fascinated by the outcome.  I love it how it came out as black and white and with such sharp definition.

  4. Did you change the settings, openings and speeds of your camera to get this effect? I took a class Sunday on digital photography, and perhaps sound as if I had some idea of what I am talking about…but the instructor took us into a wooded area and asked that we take pictures of trees; by changing the settings we got very different looks to our pictures.

  5. In this case the outcome had more to do with the lens than the camera – I used a lensbaby which only works in the manual mode of my camera. I didn’t change any other settings so I was pleasantly surprised with the result.
I have read a lot about the different camera settings and how to change them to get different effects as you mention but I can never quite remember what to do to so mostly I use the camera’s automatic modes. I probably should take a class too 🙂
